The word ‘lean’ appears seven times in the Bible (HOLY BIBLE, NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION®). Seven is a good number. I like many verses in the Bible, but two in particular have stuck with me for most of my life:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
– Proverbs 3: 5-6
I memorized those two verses at a very young age. I wish I could say I followed the advice every step of the way…but I can’t. Sometimes, I wasn’t even close.
There are 31,102 verses in the Bible (Blue Letter Bible). I think it’s pretty cool that one of the seven that uses the word ‘lean’ happens to be a favorite. I think it may have been part of the plan all along.
It is my hope that somehow this crazy idea I call theThinkShack brings glory to God. It fascinates me to think about how much of my career has been focused on change, trying new ideas, and exploring new concepts; all with the intent of making things better. Change for many folks is difficult. I think it’s been easy for me, because I’ve had a solid foundation for most of my life. Some things are better left unchanged.
So there’s theDream…maybe some of it has made you think. That’s good. I’d love to hear your story. Contact theThinkShack if you’d like to do some more thinking.
